East Winds' programme continues with another hilarious comedy by the talented Miki Satoshi, an odd story where conventional neuroses meets unconventional therapy. 'In the Pool' is a film about people with problems, who suffer from extraordinary conditions, all prompted by the levels of stress in urban dwellers' daily lives.

Those troubled patients would visit Irabu General hospital, seeking treatment, where they would meet the odd character of the main neurologist, Dr Irabu (Suzuki Matsuo). A very brisk and blunt doctor, wearing leopard-striped shirt and army boots under his white coat, meets with Mayumi, who struggles to hold down a job, due to her lack of motivation; Kazuo, a man who becomes obsessed with swimming; and Tetsuya (the charming Joe Odagiri) - a man, troubled by deep emotions, whose suppression has led him to have a constant painful erection.

A small strange comedy in the typical Satoshi style, with a humoristic twist and a quick overview of Japan's strangest creatures.
